MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Monday 12 February 2024

 

Location:     Beckwithshaw Village Hall

 

Present:         Councillors – Cllr D Spence (Chairman), Cllr A Ellis, Cllr Mr S Swires,

Cllr Mrs S Swires and Cllr M David.

 

Parish Clerk – Mrs J H Galloway.

4        Approval of previous minutes –

 

Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 8 January 2024 was proposed by Cllr Mrs S Swires, seconded by Cllr S Swires and signed by the Chairman.

 

5         Urgent Business –           The Defibrillator – Cllr S Swires to liaise with Jon Bryant

Re care of defibs. New Management at the

Squinting Cat, awaiting catch up details.

 

Grants – Working with Organisations – review the grants

and grant form for following meeting.

 

Bench – bench received, site management company has

not yet taken over site, contact again re

details.

 

Notice Board – Grant approved – fill in forms and order

Notice board.

 

Commuted Sums – Cllr Parish is in contact with NYC.

 

Hedges           Overgrown hedges have been trimmed.

Thank you to Steven Swires for hedge

cutting and thanks to Steven McEwan for

edging the path and clearing all arisings. Fantastic job.

Website        Awaiting reply from Rural Computer

Services. Cllrs Ellis and David to continue

researching new hosting services and obtain

quotes.

The bank balances at 12 February January 2024 were reported to the Parish

Council:

Business Money Manager (Deposit Account)                            £6,569.87

£7,308.47

 

New bank mandate filled out, as previous was on the wrong form.

 

Quarterly Internal audit to be carried out at next meeting.

11       Copse and Grass cutting           Chevin Landscapes 2024 quote of £632.25 plus

VAT (an increaseof 5%) for junction verge cutting,

verge from junction to The Old Post Office and leaf

clearing in autumn.       

Proposed by Cllr David, seconded by Cllr Mrs S

Swires and agreed by all.

 

12       Correspondence              Letter from NY re 2024 Garden Waste programme.         

 

13       Councillors Questions/Comments     

                                                    Comment was made about walkers letting dogs “off leash”

in fields containing livestock. Placing of “polite” notices

was suggested.
