Present:         Councillors – Cllr D Spence (Chairman), Cllr A Ellis, Cllr Mr S Swires,

Cllr Mrs S Swires, Cllr J Parish, Cllr M David and Cllr Hull.

Parish Clerk – Mrs J H Galloway.

4        Approval of previous minutes –

 

Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 12 February 2024 was proposed by Cllr Mrs S Swires, seconded by Cllr S Swires and signed by the Chairman.

5        Urgent Business –           The Defibrillator – Cllr S Swires is up to date with the

maintenance required for the defibrillators.

New defibrillator to be installed at the Squinting

Cat on 15 March 2024.

                                                  Grants – Working with Organisations – postponed, to

be followed up later.

                                                  Bench – Site management company will contact us

when they take over the site.

                                                  Notice Board – Grant form signed and sent off. Order

                                                            Notice board.

Commuted Sums – Cllr Hull to look into the commuted

sum designated for the Cricket ground on new

Housing Estate – can this be moved to existing

Beckwithshaw Cricket Field.

 

                                                            Newsletter    Content for a Spring Newsletter to be

drafted out by Chairman and Councillors.

                                                            Website        Changeover in progress.

6       Finances

 

The bank balances at 10 March 2024 were reported to the Parish

Council:

                    Business Current Account                                                         £730.60

                    Business Money Manager (Deposit Account)                        £6,579.98

                                                                                                                £7,310.58

New bank mandate completed.

     December quarter’s audit – Cllr Spence and Cllr Mrs S Swires completed and

approved the Internal Audit.

     Prior approval for clerk’s March salary and tax, and Clerks Expenses of £50.36 –

                         Approved by Cllr Spence and Cllr Mrs Swires.

7     North Yorkshire Councillor           Council Tax to rise by about 4.99%.

Delay till 2025 on Kex Gill opening due to

extra slippage.

8         Planning Matters                          None.

9    Local Plan                                      Still no local input being used with regard to

all the new housing developments.

10  Traffic and Highways                     List of items of concern within the Parish – details

to be checked and forwarded to Highways, list to

follow.

11       Copse and Grass cutting           Footpath from Beckwithshaw to Harrogate, clean

up finally finished.

12       Correspondence                        Various posters received.

 

13       Councillors Questions/Comments      Be alert as there has been burglaries and

Damage done in the Jennyfields area.

There has also been person/s collecting wood

from the verge.
