MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Monday 17 February 2025
Location: Beckwithshaw Village Hall
Present: Councillors – Cllr D Spence (Chairman), Cllr A Ellis, Cllr Mr S Swires,
Cllr J Parish, Cllr M David and Cllr N Hull.
Parish Clerk – Mrs J H Galloway.

4 Approval of previous minutes –
Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 13 January 2025 was proposed by Cllr Parish and seconded by Cllr Ellis. The minutes were signed by the Chairman.
5 Urgent Business – New Website – Minutes etc have been updated and a few
changes have been made. Still some amendments to be made.
– Defibrillator Training– Cllr Steve Swires attended on 31 January.
Details to be forwarded for information to be distributed. Check defib
instructions re contents of cabinet.
– Speed Sign– Sign has been removed for maintenance.
- Finances
The bank balances at 17 February 2025 were reported to the Parish Council:
Business Current Account 774.84
Business Money Manager (Deposit Account) 6,185.43
£6,960.27
Website renewal fees are due.
- North Yorkshire Councillor Council tax to increase by 4.99%, because of
Government cut backs to Local Authorities savings
are to be made in School Transport and Grants.
NY Council hoping to reinvest in housing stock.

9 Local Plan Potential building sites being sought for the plan.
10 Traffic and Highways The meeting arranged with Chris Blackburn was postponed due to the weather and has been arranged for
Wednesday 26 February at 9.30am.
Repeat report of pothole outside Williams Court.
The traffic grid near 7 Church row has not been reporting

11 Copse and Grass cutting New quote received for grass cutting. Approved by all
12 Correspondence None.
13 Councillors Questions/Comments Feedback – the forest planting in Haverah
Park is going ahead.
14 Dates and time of next meeting at 7.30pm – Monday 10 March 2025
Monday 14 April 2025 (Including Parish Meeting)
and Monday 12 May 2025 (Including Annual Meeting).
Please make note of dates. All are booked in the village hall.
