MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Monday 10 March 2025
Location: Beckwithshaw Village Hall
Present: Councillors – Cllr D Spence (Chairman), Cllr A Ellis, Cllr Mr S Swires,
And Cllr Mrs S Swires.
Parish Clerk – Mrs J H Galloway.

4 Approval of previous minutes –
Approval of the Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 17 February 2025 was proposed by Cllr Spence and seconded by Cllr Ellis. The minutes were signed by the Chairman.
5 Urgent Business – New Website – Still some amendments to be made.
Defibrillator – Cabinet should include at least a pair of
Scissors and a disposable razor.
3 rescue packs to be ordered.
Defibrillator instructions to be circulated.
Speed Sign – Sign is not repairable, waiting for a quote
to replace (Maybe different design if allowed by NY’s
policy)
Newsletter – to be compiled next month.

The bank balances at 10 March 2025 were reported to the Parish
Council:

Website renewal fees are due.
Clerk’s Salary and Tax to pay

Payroll fees to pay £72

Otley Road – Potential non-compliance with landscaping requirements
9 Local Plan 3 local plans (Beckwith Head and 2 at Whinney Lane) to
Be discussed at the Strategic Planning Meeting on Tuesday 11
March.
10 Traffic and Highways Cllrs Spence and Ellis met with Chris Blackburn
NYC Highways Customer Communication Officer on the 26th of February and
together walked through the Village to identify outstanding problems/defects
with the roads, signage, footpaths and overgrown hedges. Amongst other
issues Chris Blackburn was questioned about possible locations for a safe
controlled crossing in the village centre and the reinstatement of the footpath
from the roundabout to the Cricket Club. To date we have received no follow
up data from Chris Blackburn.
